  • Jonah Hill: I refuse to believe...

    ...you've only lost 40 pounds.

Yes, as a fan of Jonah Hill, I've noticed his weight loss transformation. Today I looked up before and after pictures so I could see the extremes:

Look at those...come on, there's more than a 40 pound difference there. I'd say he's lost at least 65 pounds. And actually, I KNOW I've seen recent pictures or video of him looking even a little bit smaller than in the above pictures. I think it was a video I saw of him in an interview at the premiere of "21 Jump Street" (which, btw, is amazing and yes, johnny depp has a cameo) and he looked even skinner...around the chest and waist, as well as in the face.

And speaking of weight loss in the face, when I read that he'd lost 40 pounds, I thought "man, that's just how much he's lost from the neck up!" lol. Look at this:

And I didn't notice this before reading an entire article about this one little observation, but notice how prominent his ears are now? I think it's so cute! I love big ears! Not in a creepy sexual way, but in an "aww, how cute and adorable" way. haha.

Jonah Hill has come such a long way in this weight loss journey of his! I just wish that in my picture search for this blog post, I could've found a more recent picture of him so you could see that he's even lost a little more weight. Look at him in the above pictures in this post...in the video I saw of him where he looked even a little bit smaller...I'd say it was about a 15 pound difference.

You can see his weight loss transformation if you go watch "21 Jump Street"...and I highly recommend doing so, because it's so awesome! I never would've thought Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum could have such incredible on-screen chemistry.

I know a lot of people look at blog posts, news articles, etc like this about celebrities and think "...who the fuck cares!?!" but realize this: everyone cares. We are a celebrity obsessed country. You most certainly care when you find out this celebrity is pregnant, this celebrity came out of the closet, and this celebrity is in jail. You care and don't act like you don't. Juss sayin..

Furthermore regarding Hill's weight loss: First of all, I'm very happy for him. He's obviously much healthier and happier now. In interviews I've read/watched, all he can talk about is how much happier he is. That's fantastic.

One thing that is good for him as an actor, but kinda bothers me in a way, is that he's probably going to get a lot more work now that he's in better physical shape. Think about it: like I said, we are a celebrity obsessed country. But not only are we obsessed with our celebrities, but we're obsessed over their beauty and perfection as well. The physically beautiful/perfect people are the ones who make it big in Hollywood...they're the ones who get the most work and are the most popular. They're sex symbols. And now that Mr. Hill has slimmed down, there's no denying that he's better looking. It's gonna get him more work because now, he fits the norm of what people (producers, directors, society) expect to see in Hollywood.

Ok, I have 2 more points to make, then I'm done, I swear.

One thing I noticed after seeing this transformation is now Hill actually looks his age now! lol. Before, he always looked like a nerdy, insecure high school geek to me. And I swear to God, I didn't mean that in any kind of derogatory or snide way. Maybe it's just because the first films I ever saw him in were "Click" and "Superbad" and that was the exact type of character he played in those films, but still...don't you agree that even at ages 25, 26, and 27, he still looked like that nerdy, insecure high school kid? Now, he looks like a mature, together, knows-what-he-wants 28 year old. Congrats.

And my final point...well actually, it's more of a question...so, is it okay to say that Jonah Hill is officially hot now? I mean come on..if the pictures above weren't convincing enough, here are a few more:

I never thought I would say it, but yea...Jonah Hill is hot! lol

Let me know if you agree.

And at that note, I'm gonna let you go

    thanks for reading <3

Day 28 - The Most Obscure Film You've Ever Seen
Day 29 - Your Favorite Film As a Kid
Day 30 - Your Favorite Film This Time Last Year

Day 1 - Your favorite film

From imdb.com: A former neo-nazi skinhead tries to prevent his younger brother from going down the same wrong path that he did.

Not only do I love this movie because of the incredible lesson it teaches about equality and how we shouldn't judge people by their race or appearance, but I also love the quality of the film. The storyline is amazing and the entire thing is flawlessly executed. This isn't the first time this movie will appear on my 30 day movie challenge, and this isn't the only Edward Norton film that will pop up. He's an incredibly talented actor.

Day 2 - Your Least Favorite Film

from imdb.com: Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent are forced to deal with the chaos unleashed by a terrorist mastermind known only as the Joker, as he drives each of them to their limits.

Ok, don't freak out on me. I know this is an extremely high quality film. But it's my least favorite movie of all time because of one reason: Heath Ledger. He was one of my favorite actors and if he were still alive, I know he'd be incredibly successful. He was such an amazing talent and it's nothing less than horrifying that he's no longer with us. What does that have to do with this film? Well, Ledger was a method actor, and he got SO into his role in this movie that he started having terrifying nightmares, which led to him needing sleeping medication, which he overdosed on accidentally, which is how he died. I know it may be a bit of a stretch, but I still blame Ledger's death solely on his participation in this film. But that's just me...heartbroken little me...

Day 3 - A film you watch to feel good

From imdb.com: Pleasantly plump teenager Tracy Turnblad teaches 1962 Baltimore a thing or two about integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show.

Yes, I've seen the original version and yes, I still prefer this remake. I prefer the music in this one, the comedy in this one, and I like the fact that it's filled with actors I recognize. Anyway, I love this one as a feel good film because it's so positive and upbeat. I mean, it's a musical! It teaches great lessons about being happy with who you are, don't judge people by their appearance, reach for the stars, and all that amazing stuff. I also love the mature humor inconspicuously hidden in the songs :)

Day 4 - A Film You Watch to Feel Down

from imdb.com: Because of an unusual aging disorder that has aged him four times faster than a normal human being, a boy enters the fifth grade for the first time with the appearance of a 40 year old man.

This movie is sooo sad! It's about a 10 year old boy who looks 40 and can't have anything normal in his life because of it. The title character know's he'll never grow old because at the age of 18, he looks like he's in his 70's....it's so sad and makes me thankful for my normal health. lol

Day 5 - A film that reminds you of someone

From imdb.com: The two most popular guys in high school decide to ditch football camp for cheerleader camp. For the girls and for the glory.

Who does this film remind me of? My husband. Why does it remind me of him? Well, the thing is, my husband and I don't share the same interests in movies typically. Either he doesn't like movies that I love or I don't like movies that he loves. However, we both looooove this movie! (it's completely underrated, btw. i don't know of anyone else besides me and my husband who've seen it) We both think it's hilarious and we've seen it waaaay too many times and we can randomly quote it in everyday conversation. It's a movie that, because we both love it so much, we can keep watching it over and over again and never get tired of it.

    And that's my 30 Day Movie Challenge Days 1 - 5. I will post days 6 - 10 tomorrow, probably.

    Thanks for reading!

  • 5318 Hwy 166 S

    chipped paint
    covers the wood
    like acne
    and makes the place
    look beautiful
    because it's flawed

    there's a stump in the
    front yard
    where there used to be
    a small tree
    with a thick low-set branch
    i used to sit on
    and think

there's a hole in the ground
    under the porch
    where there used to be
    a well
    i never got a chance
    to drop in a coin
    and make a wish
    but would it have
    come true
    had i gotten the chance?

    the yard is big
    and a battleground
    a field where murder
    took place in a nightmare
    where i chased down
    my brother
    and beat him to death
    for tickling me
    till i peed myself

there used to be a trampoline
    that once had a ladder
    because i was too short
to climb on it by myself
    and padding over the springs
    so i wouldn't get pinched
    and Bear would nap underneath
    in the shade
    and in the summertime
two of us kids would jump up and down
while the other one sprayed us
    with the hose
    it was a game
    like Teatherball
    or Mother, May I?

    there's a small patch
    where grass won't grow
    around a circle of concrete
    where the basketball goal stood
    i loved it when
    Jesse would come over
and play HORSE with my brother
    especially when he ran over
    without his shirt on
and asked to borrow my blue bike
    and ride down
    to Anderson's C-Store
for a pack of Big League Chew
    and a cream soda

    there used to be memories
    there still are
    but now they're trapped
    inside the abandoned house
    that's been gutted
the windows have been knocked out
the walls have been torn down
    and all that remains
    is a shell
    about to break
    yet still strong enough
    to hold
    my childhood
  • The Months of Frozen Yogurt

    you look so country chic
    wearing nothing but
    a sundress
    an anklet
    mascara
    and Go Blonder
    and i find it innovative
    considering it's barely February
    but you don't care
    standing barefoot
    in the grocery store
    parking lot
    taking artistic photos
    of shopping carts
    and your half-eaten
    Tootsie Pop
    upset
    because you lost count at
    347 licks
    so i take you inside
    to buy you another
so you can start all over
    and all i can think
as we stand in the checkout line
and i stare at the sunflowers
    on your dress
is that i can't wait for summer
    to see your freckles
    and your dandelion headbands
    i can practically smell
    the Coppertone SPF 45
    and mango daquiris
  • i'm glad you're not a secretary anymore

    i saw her pull up
    even though it was
    3 a.m.
and she turned the headlights off
    a few blocks back

but i can still see her
    she's changing her clothes
    out of her red dress
    into her jogging suit
the one she goes shopping in
    because she doesn't really jog

    and all i can wonder
is where she got that red dress
and why she never wears it for me
    but then when i remember
    that it's 3 a.m.
and she turned the headlights off
    a few blocks back
    i realize
she doesn't want to wear it for me

    but if she knew
that i saw her in it
    and if she knew
    how wet it made me
to think about touching her in it
    and taking it off her
    if she knew
    that i could love her
    like he does
    even more than he does
then she would never leave me again
    and she'd love me too

    she's walking up the steps
so i run away from the window
    onto the couch
    faking a snore
    and when she walks in
    she pretends to be breathy
    in case i'm still awake
    as if it'd convince me
    but then she sees me
    she comes over to me
    i can hear her tiptoe
    and she covers me up
    kisses my forehead
    and whispers
    i'm sorry
    like she always does
    when she thinks i'm asleep

    and i always forgive her

i hate her for the fact
    that i love her
